You're here; maybe you're still trying to figure out why, or how you stumbled onto this website, or even why you're reading this, but something, somewhere, somehow brought you right here. It could be the idea of reprioritizing your life; it could be because you read the line, "find your authentic self," and thought to yourself, "Why is my life such a mess, or why do I say and do things that indicate I'm portraying someone or something that is not real?
Let us be the first to tell you, regardless of why you showed up, "We're glad you're here.
At its core, RM60 will walk you through two months of freeing yourself from the unnecessary baggage you're carrying around through our version of a detox. From there, we're going to move into a deep dive into your lifestyle, holding you accountable to the choices that may slow you down, literally.
After an entire month of focusing on simplifying your life through a detox, you're ready to dive into a life of significance. Think about the last time you took your spouse on a date. How about the last time you did something for yourself? Think about it because, throughout RM60, we're going to hold you to it.
Finally, it's time to talk about your legacy. What happens to you when you die? I know it sounds harsh, but there are two certainties in life, "you were born, and you will die," and considering you're spending 60 days working on what really matters, how will you be remembered by the people you care about?
How do I get started?
We thought you would never ask because it's simple:
- Download the attached worksheet.
- Block off your calendar for a few hours.
- Get to work on it.
When people think about detox, the first thing that comes to mind is what? Substances? Diet? How about all of your stuff? What about that device you can't put down or the arguments you're getting into on social media every day? Detox is about identifying what's holding you back, occupying (or wasting) your time and eliminating it, and
Do you work out sometimes? Do you "try" and eat healthy most of the time? Do you count calories for three days until the weekend comes around, and you cave at the first sign of temptation? Someone once said, "It takes 21 days to create a habit and three days to lose one." Well, we've got great news, we're giving you sixty.
Compare the reasons that would inspire you to attend your next high school reunion against how you would hope your life be defined. If you think long enough about this, we would be willing to bet the reasons break down into two categories: success versus significance. Someday, near the end, we’re not going to look back and wish we had worked more; we’re going to wish we had more time with the people we love. Being more cognizant of our time together now, why should we waste another second? Let's be intentional with our time spent with our kids, let's plan something epic, let's connect with God and deepen our spiritual well-being, and let's get out there and live a life that demands an explanation. A life of significance.
If you skip a workout or two or three, you're only letting yourself down, but putting things into perspective, when you skip out on this aspect of your life, you're letting someone else down. They may not realize it because that's what they've come to expect from you, but "Come on, you're better than that, and you know it." Intentionally thinking about your legacy helps redefine success and puts meaning back into your life when you've been struggling to find your purpose. We're going to work on getting your affairs in order; we're going to be intentional about telling the people who really matter to us how we feel, and it all begins with one of the most significant exercises perhaps you will ever do: writing your Eulogy.
